Ontario health officials are actively monitoring a measles outbreak that has now totaled 661 confirmed cases, following several weeks of significant transmission. Despite a recent small decline in new reports, experts stress the importance of vaccination and sustained vigilance to contain the spread and protect the public’s health.
But on the positive side, there are signs that spread may be slowing.
Ontario reported 89 new measles cases last week, raising the total to 661 since the fall outbreak began. This compares to over 100 and 120 cases in prior weeks, with Public Health Ontario, including Dr. Sarah Wilson, monitoring the situation closely.
