BC Elections Error: Special Ballots Retained in B.C. Riding Mishap

In a notable electoral oversight, more than 800 special ballots were mistakenly kept by a returning officer in a British Columbia riding. Election officials have alerted all registered political parties, prompting concerns about ballot handling and urging immediate review of the electoral process to prevent future missteps.
The agency said an initial analysis shows that the outcomes in the 74 districts were not affected by the mislaid ballots
Plus de 800 bulletins de vote spéciaux déposés aux dernières élections fédérales ont été conservés par erreur dans le bureau d’un directeur du scrutin en Colombie-Britannique, selon Élections Canada.
Elections Canada says all registered political parties have been informed that 822 special ballots cast by electors in 74 electoral districts across the country were left with the returning officer in the riding of Coquitlam-Port Coquitlam.
