Alberta measles figures prompt health warnings in southern region

Alberta’s ongoing measles outbreak continues to raise alarms, with latest reports noting over 600 cases since early March and a new surge of confirmed cases in the province’s southern zone. Health officials are urging increased vigilance and vaccination as the situation evolves.
The zone has 75 per cent of the province’s total caseload of 606, as of Monday
Government data shows a large majority of Alberta’s total measles cases have been reported in children
EDMONTON - Alberta has seen more than 600 cases of measles since early March, as 19 more cases of the highly contagious disease have been confirmed.
There were 46 newly-confirmed cases of measles in Alberta over the weekend, with all but two of them in the province's south health zone.
