The New Democratic Party announced an ambitious $16-billion fund aimed at constructing three million new homes by 2030. The proposal seeks to alleviate the housing crisis and stimulate economic growth by directing substantial public investment toward sustainable, community-focused residential projects, offering a long-term solution to affordability issues and setting a bold agenda for social and economic reform.
The fund would be split between the Canadian Homes Transfer program that would promote the building of multiunit homes and the Communities First Fund program that aims to expand water and sewage infrastructure
