A rupture in a section of the Keystone pipeline in rural North Dakota forced an immediate shutdown of operations, as the operator isolated the affected segment and deployed containment resources. The 4327 km Keystone pipeline ruptured in North Dakota Tuesday, halting crude oil shipments from Canada to U.S. refineries. South Bow, the operator, shut it down after leak detection systems identified the issue.
